Food & sensory
Do you cater to dietary requirements?
Yes. While we don’t run a central commercial kitchen, each tent has its own private kitchenette, and we offer optional hampers and work with trusted local suppliers. Let us know your dietary needs (allergies, intolerances, vegetarian/vegan, etc.) when booking and we’ll tailor your experience where possible.
What sensory considerations are in place?
Our retreat offers a peaceful, low-stimulus setting. There are:
- no artificial background noises;
- minimal lighting at night;
- no strong fragrances in the environment.
Scented items can be removed from your tent upon request. If you are neurodiverse, autistic, or sensitive to sensory input, please let us know how we can support your stay.
Mobility & access
Is Akuna Estate wheelchair accessible?
At this time, our tents are not wheelchair accessible. Each tent is elevated and accessed via two or four steps (depending on tent), with gravel pathways leading to the deck.
Is Akuna Estate suitable for guests with limited mobility?
Guests with limited mobility who are comfortable with stairs may find the space manageable. However, the site includes uneven surfaces and steps, and we recommend discussing your needs with us prior to booking.
Do you provide mobility aids such as ramps or stools?
We do not currently offer mobility aids, ramps, or support equipment on-site.
Parking
Can I park close to the tent?
Yes. Each tent has a dedicated parking space located directly beside it, allowing guests to unload bags and access the tent with minimal walking.
